Ep. 13 - The I.S.A Founder, Courage Bear

Episode 13 of the Future Sport Podcast features Courage Bear from Ochapowace First Nation. He is the founder of the Indigenous Sports Academy (I.S.A), based out of Saskatoon! I.S.A selects Indigenous Hockey Players from across Canada, and helps them build skills in areas of health hockey, leadership, Indigenous identity and most importantly, in the development of their characters. Courage speaks about how he started this nation wide program. Courage speaks about the journey to creating the first Indigenous sports academy in all of Canada like it! 

Last week’s Future Sport Spotlight was Everett Quewezance from Keeseekoose First Nation, and he is on this week’s episode! At the end of August, Everett won the title of Champion at the MJT Junior Golf Tour National Championships. His two day score of 4 under-par, qualified him for the World level golf, for a third time in a row. He represents Keeseekoose, Kamloops and Canada, as one of the top Golfers across the world in his division!

Both Courage and Everett are showing outstanding dedication to sport and the Future Sport is here to share the amazing stories of Indigenous sports fans from across Saskatchewan.
