Associate Professor, Community Economics, Tourism, and Indigenous Business Department, and the Purdy Crawford Chair in Aboriginal Business Studies, Shannon School of Business, Cape Breton University. Mary Beth is Mi’kmaq/Canadian from Unama’ki’ (Cape Breton, Nova Scotia) and a member of the Membertou Mi’kmaw community. She has a B.Eng in Industrial Engineering from Dalhousie and an MBA in Community Economic Development from CBU.
Her scholarly research relates to the intersections between Indigenous-led business, Community Economic Development, policy administration, and curriculum development. She is also the co-chair of the Bras d’Or Lakes Collaborative Environmental Planning Initiative (CEPI).
