Interview with Economists, Andre Le Dressay and Norm Lavallee, from the  Tulo Centre of Indigenous Economics

Dr. Andre Le Dressay

He received his PhD in Economics 30 years ago from Simon Fraser University. He is the director of Fiscal Realities, Economists. He has been the director of the Tulo Centre since 2008. He has worked with hundreds of First Nations and many First Nation institutions to support First Nation economic development and growth and written hundreds of reports and articles in this area. .

Norm Lavallee

An Economist and instructor who has spent nearly two decades helping First Nations strengthen their economies and business presence. With Fiscal Realities Economists and the Tulo Centre of Indigenous Economics, he’s written many reports and articles, developed practical tools, and designed innovative education programs that help translate policy and ideas into real-world results. Norm holds an MBA from Thompson Rivers University.

Norm and Andre have worked together for many years at Fiscal Realities and the Tulo Center. With First Nation institutional partners and experts, we have helped develop the curriculum for 22 original university courses on First Nation applied economics, tax administration and lands governance. We are proud that there are over 200 First Nation graduates of the Tulo Centre certificate programs. The paper Moving at the Speed of Business captures much of our work with First Nations institutions and governments and the Tulo Centre to support First Nation economic self-determination strategies and jurisdictions.
