Marcel Petit: On Existing at the Intersection of art, culture, and community.
Today we’re sitting down with a guest whose work lives at the intersection of art, culture, and community.
Marcel Petit is a Michif artist whose creative practice is grounded in storytelling, identity, and the strength of Métis and Indigenous ways of knowing.
Through his art, he explores history, language, and lived experience — creating pieces that connect people to land, memory, and each other.
Alongside his work as an artist, Marcel is also a lecturer at the First Nations University of Canada, where he mentors and teaches the next generation of Indigenous artists, helping students find their own voices and creative paths.
Today, we’re talking about his journey, his process, and what it means to create — and teach — Indigenous art in our communities.
